Today we went to explore the last unexplored beach on the island. Nic is getting very good on the scooter now and is not afraid of the sandy, steep and generally unstable little paths.
I am still a bit afraid and have started clinging onto Nic's neck when I think we're about to wipe out. It seems to help. Our guest house is at the top of quite a steep hill, so we get lots of dangerous riding practice in.
The beach was very beautiful, as they all are here, but it was low tide so we walked out to the sea. It was a long way, and getting quite hot out (Thailand is now officially very hot).
We found a gang of bizarre crabs that have one very long finger nail that they wave about in front of them when they run. There were about 60 of them. The fastest ones kept waiting for the slow guys to catch up which was sweet but pointless as they slow ones where more interested in burying themselves in the sand and then popping up again as we got closer.
We got to the sea, but didn't go in (I can't remember why, I think there were rocks). Instead we went over to Buffalow beach. We parked at a resort and went off for a swim. I got attacked by an aneneme and Nic was very good at looking after me (and I was very brave).
We ate at the resort where we had parked and it was pretty shit. This is the first time that we've had less than fabulous food on this island so it's worth noting. Then we found out bike had been viciously thrown to its side. The mirror is now broken and we were very cross for a short while. We will not be going back to that resort. It was called Mountain Resort, so you know. Don't go there!
