Kerala

This is my latest good idea.  I want to stay in a house boat while we're in Kerala.

House boat in Kerala

Annoyingly these have also been mentioned in the Guardian, but I swear I found them before the Guardian did!

But they do look amazing, don't they?

Here's an article about them from GoIndia

Here are some sites for these houseboats:
Kerala Houseboat - that's actually their name
Coco Houseboats - although their site is currently under updation :)

So, these are £82 per night.  That's a lot, and probably out of our league a little bit.

So... I really want to go to Kerala, but I don't really, really need to stay on an expensive house boat.  I'll just look at them and wave.

This is coffee
The NY Times has an article about staying in the area on a coffee plantation.  Well, that seems like a great idea to us.  We love coffee a lot.  A lot.

This is where it comes from (apparently)

Munnar.  It's in Kerala.  In South India.
Just Google image Munnar.  It's very beautiful and very green.

One of the plantations that is mentioned in the NY article is Misty Woods.  It looks lovely.

Plantation at Misty Woods
They charge about £50 a night.  For 2 of us.

Not bad, eh?
Maybe we'll stay here?
