Cashews are my new favourite thing right now.
We are in Koh Phayam, which is probably the best island in the world and it is covered in cashew trees.
It turns out that no one knew how cashews grew before (except a few nut-freaks on Wikipedia), but I can now reveal their secrets... They grow on trees and the nuts are attached to a big squishy apple looking thing. The smell from the fruit is difficult to describe, but it is a sort of slightly rotting, sweet, odd smell. It is everywhere here.

Last night I had a cashew stirfry - it was also lovely (actually it was cold, but that's not the cashews fault). We went to a cute little bar along the beach and the tide came in while we were eating. We decided we'd be ok to wade back, but we ended up about chest high. We had to walk through our resorts restaurant soaking wet, it was hilarious.
