We Made It!!!

Yes, we made it all the way to Krabi, near the south of Thailand. It took bloody ages. There was a taxi, a plane, then another plane, then a taxi then a boat.

This is where we are right now!!
It was quite fun generally. The plane was nice, it was practically empty and there was Despicable Me 2. It did take a long time though and they kept turning the lights off to pretend that it was night time even though it clearly wasn't night time.
Then we got to Bangkok and that was very exciting. We didn't really see much apart from the airport though. The airport is... a generic airport. It is fine. We bought some Lonely Planet books about Thailand.

Then there was the next, smaller plane to Krabi. That was ok too, it was only a hour or so flight. Nic had started to feel particularly bad by this stage though (man flu) and so he was having a bit of a moan about everything by this stage. He is quite amusing when he's like this, but after a while you just want to shoot him.

Our beach in the morning
Then we were in Krabi (yay). There was some weirdness where because we had a sticker that some lady had given us in Bangkok, we were told to go a certain way to collect our bags. Then we were told that was wrong and we had to get on a bus which finally took about 5 of us about 20 meters round the corner where our bags were.

Then we were hoping the resort had sent someone to get us (because that is what we had arranged, not just wishful thinking). But there was no one, so we went to get a cab. But the lady at the cab office said they had to take us to the boat.  This is when I started to lose it. I was very tired by this stage, and I really thought we'd come to the end of our journey.

The cab ride was very nice and took us to Ao Nang beach where there was a cool traveller dude who looked wise. Then there was a long boat which looks awesome but we had to wade out about 40 meters in to the sea to get on. That would have been fine, but we had soooo much shit with us by this stage. Poor old ill Nic had to carry my massive heavy bag on his back and he was not impressed.

But finally we had made it to Railay!!! We found the resort without further incident! We were given a cold flannel and a drink and got on a little golf trolley thing to our amazing bungalow.

We are now really happy.

These are actual photo's taken by Nic - not just found on Google images!
Jet lag is a real thing - we woke up at 3 in the morning and were wide awake, we woke up again at 6.30 ish.  Is ok though, we don't need to be anywhere at any particular time.

We just had breakfast and it is a buffet (which I love!!!) I had so much food. I had noodles and potatoes and a pancake and fruit and some other stuff and lots of horrible coffee and some bright green juice. Nic had some cornflakes.

An awesome rock!
Everything is going well. You can see some more photo's here.

  1. Wow! What a journey. I hope Nic is feeling better after a long sleep. Your blog and photos are brilliant. I almost feel like I am with you...not quite! It is drab and damp here! Not too cold though. We have a bath with hot steaming water which is wonderful. I will take a photo and show you!

  7. So pleased to hear you arrived safe and sound. The pictures look like you have arrived in heaven! Totally blissful! So jealous! You probably won't want to come home! Yes, when you are on the move, travel is exhausting, especially when things don't work out the way you have planned them. But anyway, it all works out in the end. So just chill and enjoy ... Thai massage and all. Its just a matter of slowing down now. You deserve some serious rest and relaxation. Hope Nic feels better soon. Lotsaluv xxx
