We've been in Chiang Mai for just over a week now and after a
slightly rocky start, we are now big fans of the city. It is a beautiful and friendly place.

A Big Wat
|
It's got lovely little walkways that need exploring. Each one has at least a handful of fabulous little family run restaurants. There's everything that you could need within easy walking distance, and if you can't be bothered to walk, there are loads of tuk tuks.
There are a LOT of wats. We've done the 'What wat is that wat?' joke to death now. A lot of the wats look very similar to each other, but today we went off to find a very old wat. We decided to look for this one as it was the biggest wat that came up on Google maps. It's called Wat Chedi Luang.

My new favourite wat |
I liked it a lot, it was a very nice wat.
We have also been up the mountain to see the wat up there. We didn't know that there was a wat in the mountain, we just fancied going into the forest, but the taxi insisted in taking us to the wat.

Mountain Wat |
Another nice wat. There were a lot of stairs and tourists but still very nice.
