Long Tail to Ko Hong

I was planning to blog everything that we did while we're on our travels so we'd remember it all, but it has become obvious that that is not going to happen. I'll probably only be able to record about 10% of the awesome things we're going to do!!

But, I will just note that I am fricking loving the breakfasts! I've had noodles and mash potato and chips and croissants and pancakes and some weird stuff that I thought was omelette but wasn't... it's great.

Other awesome things that we've done are: we swam in the sea at night, we sat on a table, we met a ladyboy and I did an impression of a squid to her, we canooed and... we took a long tail to Ko Hong.

Ko Hong

Ko Hong is a little island that you can't live on. It has a lagoon. A lagoon, it seems is basically a magic secret amazing lake hiding in an awesome vertical forest.

Entrance to the magic lagoon
It was so beautiful. It was green and perfect. Like everywhere else here, the photos don't do it justice.

That water is actually that green!!
So we swam around in there for a bit, then we went to the beach..

"'To the beach, my good man!"'
Here's the beach...

The island is a nature reserve and we went on an intrepid barefoot trek into the jungle!!

We saw a massive green killer spider, but we didn't want to take it's picture in case it leapt at us. But it was very mean looking.

We didn't see much other stuff on the trek, but we had seen a sea eagle catching a fish earlier so we were ok.

Oh, and Nic trod on an ant nest and I got a photo...

Ants!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. OH way to go, Sarah! It's all so impressive and wonderful. How brilliant. It has not stopped raining here all day. The light level is about 'dusk' all day! The wind is blowing a storm and the rain is coming in horizontally.
I look forward to the next instalment. It's exciting reading!

    Lots of love M xxx

  2. It all looks so amazing and just so beautiful! Travel advert stuff, and you are really there. Enjoy for us too. Those islands with lagoons are absolutely incredible. In Vietnam (Halong Bay) we sailed under a rock to get onto the island via the lagoon! Bizarre but strangely beautiful!
