And where's more beautiful than Zanzibar? I can't think that anywhere could be.

Really, really pretty.
It's a smallish island off Tanzania and it's the birth place of Freddy Mercury. We really want to go here!

The only problem with this is that we would have our big car by this stage and we're not too sure about just leaving it alone in Dar es Saleem while we go off and enjoy ourselves in Zanzibar.The car would be sad.
Or the car would be destroyed and sold for parts.
And we would then be car less in Tanzania.
There was a car ferry, but it sank.

And this wasn't a one off, a car ferry sank on it's way to Zanzibar again the following year.
Now there is no car ferry to Zanzibar as far as we can tell. And even if there is still a car ferry... It sank twice before!!!
So that's a bit of a dilemma, but I'm sure we'll figure something out when we get there.
...I really hope they have a Freddy Mercury museum.
You will probably find that the beach resorts in Zanzibar (and in Kenya and the rest of northern Tanzania) are fairly cheap. This might have something to do with the amount of kidnapping and killing of rich white tourists by the Muslim terrorist and pirates from Somalia who can get this far down the coast. They are going for softer targets now that the merchant ships have got better at defending themselves.
