While we're still in England

Although we're very excited about going away and seeing all these different places in the world, there's still a lot of awesome left in England.

We're going to see some of this before we go.

As it's not too far away and Nic's not been, I thought we'd go to Windsor and check out the castle.  It's a pretty place and very English.

We're also going to go to Stone Henge.  Again, it's a very English thing that Nic's not seen and is not too far from us.  That's the only criteria we need to meet.
Stoned Henge

This big naked guy lives round the corner from my folks, so we'll see him before we go to.  He is called Colin the Cerne Abbas Giant.

Colin is getting excited
As the South West of the country is generally the best bit, and it's where my family live, I think we'll do a little driving tour of this part.  We can see all the above, and also...

St Michaels' Mount!
St Michael's Mount... might be owned by the French?
It's like a very tiny island that has a castle on it.  You can walk to it when the tide is out.  I went there when I was a child and I got a pen that says 'St Michaels Mount'.  It was a good day.

We'll also go and see the most southerly point of the UK, which is Lizard Point.

So you can find it

Lizard Point - it's as south as England gets

I don't think it's particularly exciting, but it's not bad and we might as well go and see it since we're in the area.  My dad made us go when I was small, we did the northernest, westerliest, eastern and most southern points of UK.  I seem to remember the western bit was best.

And how awesome is the Isle of Wight?

We also want to go to the Isle of Wight.  I love the Isle of Wight, it is a tiny, crazy place.  I went there a few years ago with my mum and it was really fun, so definitely want to go back here.

Here are some of the Isle of Wight's best bits:

Geography at Blackgang Chine
and the Blackgang Chine giant pirate

The best model village in the world!
